Aircraft CEO addresses design professionals at leading Scottish Design Festival

Aircraft CEO Matt McGrath addresses an audience of leading design professionals at the ‘Six Cities Design Festival’, Scotland’s first national celebration of design and creativity. Events will take place across the six cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Stirling and Inverness with the objective of showcasing and supporting a sector which has for a long time been thriving in Scotland. Former First Minister Jack McConnell opened the festival which ran from 17 May – 3 June. The programme included business, design and learning programmes as well as a programme of public events. Matt McGrath, designer of the leading edge hand-held medical device the McGRATH®, spoke on the use of design across different areas of business from accounting to marketing materials, and from assembly line instructions to board room presentations.
Other high-profile speakers at the event included Bill Sermon (Vice President of Design at Nokia Multimedia), Joe Ferry (Head of Design at Virgin Atlantic) and Josephine Green (Director of Trends & Strategy at Philips Design). The program was headed by Sir George Cox, Chairman of the Design Council and former Head of the Institute of Directors.
